1. If you could suddenly speak one language fluently (that you don't currently speak) what would it be?
I've pretty much come to the conclusion that I'm not meant to speak a foreign language. What I'd really like to learn is how to read lips!

2. If you were to suggest a foreign film, that you really enjoyed, what one would you suggest?
Amélie of course. And L'Appartement... Crimson Rivers (the ending of this one is silly but I forgive it because the mood is mesmerizing up 'til then). Switching to German, there's Run Lola Run and Goodbye, Lenin!. I think that's enough. :)

3. If you had to call another country home (other than the one you currently live in) what one would you choose?
I always say Australia, but probably anywhere with a warm climate would do. We've finally hit Spring-like weather here this week, and it's amazing how much more complete I feel with the sun shining and a breeze coming in the window.

4. If you went out to buy an import music CD, what one would you buy?
Hmm.. I'd like to have a legal copy of the Rain soundtrack from New Zealand.

5. If you were to chose an ethnic dinner, what would it be?
Something I've never had before - like Sushi or Thai. It's funny - I felt worldly this week because I bought flour tortillas for the first time. LOL.

Five on Friday: Roses are Red

1. What is your favorite red food?
Cherry Cheesecake is first to come to mind.

2. Do you own any red clothing?
I have this long-sleeved Kmart shirt that I love - a rich red with little stripes of lighter and darker red, pink, light green, and either brown or black (it looks different depending on the light). One thing knitting has taught me is a new appreciation for unique color combinations.

3. Name one item you can see right now that is red.
A poster promoting the Shout! cast recording that I won in a contest at the old davidcampbell.com. I probably ought to take it down. I haven't listened to any DC stuff in ages.

4. Have you ever run a stop sign or red light?
Don't drive. Moving on...

5. Do you ever get so angry that you "see red"?
No, but I see "I See Red" by Split Enz!
Yesterday I saw a garbage skip and found myself wondering, is 'skip' an American word? British? Aussie? After all the overseas TV/movies/books I've consumed, I honestly don't know anymore. :-)

Cable status: still down. There is some confusion whether the payment was mailed or delivered in person. Heaven help us is it's the former. Last night I watched The Class and Heros, two shows I would have never chosen otherwise. I laughed a few times at The Class but, god, what a stupid show. Heros has me intrigued. I might keep watching.

Feast One Hundred & Twenty Seven

Appetizer
Which television shows do you just refuse to miss?
Right now, just House and Mythbusters. It's killing me that I'm going to miss the pirate episode. :-(

Soup
Who did you last speak to on the telephone?
Some dude calling from an 800 number, probably a collection agency or telemarketer. He asked for "Kelly" and seemed baffled when I told him he had a wrong number.

Salad
How many pillows do you keep on your bed?
2 regular, 1 small, and the recent addition of a noodle pillow which stays on the bed because I don't know what else to do with it.

Main Course
Name one addition to your computer (software, hardware, etc.) that you'd love to have.
I'm pining for a DVD burner. I saw a good price on a Lite-On at NewEgg yesterday and was very tempted. But the main thing I need is a new chair. Unbeknownst to me, I managed to tear a rip in the metal frame of my old one, so for months I've been afraid of leaning back too far. A trip to Office Depot this afternoon will hopefully be fruitful.

Dessert
What is your favorite foreign food?
I don't know how 'foreign' it is, but I love chicken and broccoli from the local Chinese food place. With sticky rice instead of fried rice. Mmm.
